resort map

Breathtaking scenery with stylish architecture combine to make Châtel a true experience for all who visit.

Châtel is a French resort located on the border with Switzerland and is close to Geneva airport. Based in the Portes du Soleil area you will find access to large areas of skiing to suit all abilities with over 650km of piste. The picturesque old village is still rustic in parts but has plenty of facilities and breathtaking scenery.

Châtel has three main ski areas – Super-Châtel, Linga and Pré la Joux. These are linked by a free ski bus which runs every 15 minutes in the winter. Ideal for beginners and intermediates, with its sweeping tree-lined blue runs, the Super-Châtel ski area links directly into Switzerland and the resorts of Torgon and Morgins.

The cuisine is fabulous and comes highly recommended. For a great après ski atmosphere visit Tunnel, the Avalanche or L’Isba. It is busy at weekends with many French and Swiss visitors. A favourite the guests is a visit to the micro brewery pub Le Fer Rouge. The landlord brews his own hand drawn Ale, Lager and Stout, all of which are excellent.
