beginners
****
several wide, gentle nursery slopes close to the village centre. some free beginners lifts. Some easy runs from the top of the mountain right down to the resort
intermediates
*****
a large number of red runs to improve technique gives Flaine an ideal choice. runs to neighbouring resorts go along narrow tree lined trails. A vast choice of runs means you need never run the same run twice.
advanced
****
taxing black runs include Diamond Noir,  Styx and the wooded run down to Samoens. Off-piste runs are breath-taking, giving Flaine a reputation among the experienced. try the Gers Bowl. the blacks fully deserve their grading.
snowboarding
****
boarders will enjoy ample chances to practice wide, carving turns, bumps and off-piste. free riders will revel in one of Europe's best known ski parks.
