Samoëns
is a beautiful old town in the Giffre Valley. Once a thriving stone
cutting centre, Samoëns is the only resort in France to be listed as a
historical monument.
Medieval fountains, rustic old buildings and an
ancient church all help to sum up a charming resort. Despite recent
growth, the bars and restaurants still give a feel of the real rural
France.
|
| 260 km of
pistes link the five resorts of the Grand Massif (Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval,
Flaine, Les Carroz d'Arâches, Morillon and Samoëns). There are 75 ski
lifts, 3 different types of Jampark, descents of varying difficulty,
entertainment on a regular basis, restaurants. From the village to The
Grand Domaine: 8 minutes |
|
With the new car parks sited around the departure zone
on the banks of the Giffre (448 places in 2003 and 750 places in its
final phase), from a starting altitude of 700 metres, skiers have
rapid access to one of the biggest ski areas of the Haute Savoie,
which also has one of the best snow records.
And so the harmony between the conservation village and the vast ski
area becomes reality. The Grand Massif Express
is now operational. |
