Davos is the birthplace of downhill skiing.
Davos, which claims to be the highest town
in Europe, straggles
(inconveniently) for four miles from the station of Davos Dorf to
Davos Platz.
|
|
The Davos ski area, linked with Klosters, is a mecca
for enthusiasts. It is dominated by the 2844m Weissfluhjoch, from
which offers wide sweeping runs. |

|
|
The efficient bus service, included
in the lift pass, runs in a loop around the one-way system. Davos Dorf
is quiet with handsome old hotels, and provides access to the main
Parsenn ski area. Davos Platz is more commercialised, having more
nightlife. |
