beginners
***
nursery slopes right by the village and others up on the Hohwald and Bargelegg lifts. great longer runs by the railway to Kleine Scheidegg, especially the scenic (and easy) blue Mettlen-Grund.
intermediates
*****
fantastic terrain for intermediates. the full area Jungfrau Top Region ski pass covers all the pistes providing almost unlimited scope ranging from gentle confidence boosters to more testing routes down the Kleine Scheidegg mountain. Try the 8km run from Oberhoch down to Grindelwald. popular with families, largely due to long, gentle cruising runs. take the route under the gondola down to Grund. have a go at the satisfying red run from Oberlager down to the Hotel Wetterhorn, have a drink, then bus it back to Grindelwald. the large number of t-bar lifts may be off-puttting.
advanced
**
quite a limited area for experts. try the famous Lauberhorn World Cup downhill piste, or the Black Rock run starting at the base of the Eiger. later in the season, this is one of the first runs to close. If your eager for more, head over to Mürren for the almost vertical Kanonenrohr! for more adventure, try the heli-trips
snowboarding
***
two half pipes in the region and excellent runs for beginners. try the Oberjoch.
