beginners
****
convenient lifts at village level and plenty of long, wide open gentle runs, even from the top of the mountain. There are excellent nursery slopes at resort level.
intermediates
*****
ideal. there are 5174 acres of skiing on offer, meaning there is plenty of variety to choose from. the snow in Colorado is light allows easy navigation of most runs. try the Blue Sky Basin. on the western side there are long and quiet blues. Born Free goes from top to bottom, as does Simba. Some of the ungroomed pistes offer a good introduction to powder.
advanced
*****
test yourself on the double black diamonds of Goshawk and Peregrine. There are six Back Bowls and miles of mogul fields. Blue Sky Basin offers some great adventure runs with some genuinely steep double black diamond runs.
snowboarding
****
freeriders are spoilt for choice, with their domain being Golden Peak in Vail. Here there are beginner and expert pipes and numerous kickers. Beaver Creek is very snowboarder friendly. Both resorts offer gladed tree runs, berms, log slides and jumps.
